Cocker Gallery of the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).<\/p>\n<p>Curated by Pippo <strong>Ciorra<\/strong>, Elena <strong>Motisi,<\/strong> and Elena <strong>Tinacci<\/strong> of the <strong>MAXXI Museum<\/strong>, this travelling exhibition, acquired by MAECI in 2023, presents the <strong>works <\/strong>and <strong>words <\/strong>of dozens of <strong>Italian and international women architects,<\/strong> who have left their mark on <strong>contemporary architecture<\/strong> and are giving birth to a new generation of \u201c<strong>city creators<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition provides not only a <strong>historical overview<\/strong> of the first <strong>women<\/strong> who, since the <strong>second half of the 20th century<\/strong>, have achieved goals and made projects of global scope (such as Lina Bo <strong>Bardi<\/strong>, Gae <strong>Aulenti<\/strong>, Jane <strong>Jacobs<\/strong>, Phyllis <strong>Lambert <\/strong>and Zaha <strong>Hadid<\/strong>), but also of the <strong>new generations of female professionals and collectives led by women<\/strong>, who are contributing to the quality of contemporary architecture, urban planning and design.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Toronto<\/strong> stop is particularly significant because it is enriched by an important <strong>Canadian section<\/strong> curated by Lisa <strong>Landrum<\/strong>, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at <strong>TMU.<\/strong> This section presents the work of <strong>15 female architects and designers from Toronto and Ontario<\/strong>, underlining the exponential growth in the presence and relevance of female professionals in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>After Toronto, the exhibition will travel to <strong>Montreal<\/strong>, where it will be on display at the University of Quebec UQAM &#8211; <em>Centre des Arts et Design<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGood News | Buone Nuove\u201d<\/strong> is presented by the <strong>MAXXI Foundation<\/strong>, the <strong>Consulate General of Italy in Toronto<\/strong>, the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute<\/strong> and <strong>Toronto Metropolitan University<\/strong>, in partnership with Toronto-based <strong>Diamond Schmitt Architects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On 5 September, the architecture exhibition \u201cBuone Nuove | Good News: Women in Architecture &#8211; from MAXXI to MET\u2019 opened in Toronto, at the Paul H.
