{"id":122714,"date":"2024-09-10T15:59:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T13:59:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2024\/09\/vivavoce-davide-hjort-di-fabio-a-copenaghen\/"},"modified":"2024-09-10T17:30:15","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T15:30:15","slug":"vivavoce-davide-hjort-di-fabio-a-copenaghen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2024\/09\/vivavoce-davide-hjort-di-fabio-a-copenaghen\/","title":{"rendered":"Davide Hjort Di Fabio in Copenaghen with \u2018VivaVoce\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In his <strong>first solo exhibition \u2018Vivavoce\u2019<\/strong>, Davide Hjort <strong>Di Fabio<\/strong> explores the structure of <strong>memory<\/strong> and the way memories are formed, preserved and transformed over time.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the words of Bell <strong>Hooks<\/strong> in the book <em>Belonging: A Culture of Place<\/em>, \u2018We are born and have our being in a place of memory\u2019, Di Fabio works with materials such as <strong>clay<\/strong>, recovered objects and photographs to highlight the <strong>body\u2019s role as a living archive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, inaugurated in the presence of <strong>Italian Ambassador<\/strong> Stefania <strong>Rosini<\/strong> and open to the public until 13 September at the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Copenhagen<\/strong>, is based on the artist\u2019s <strong>family history<\/strong> and the <strong>landscapes<\/strong> around the town <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>Popoli<\/strong> in central Italy. During <strong>World War II<\/strong>, the artist\u2019s grandparents had to live in a mountain cave to escape the bombing of the town. Almost 80 years later, Di Fabio returned to the cave with his grandmother and documented their shared experience on video. The cave, once a place of <strong>refuge<\/strong>, now raises the question of what truly defines a home: is it the physical <strong>place<\/strong> or the <strong>emotions<\/strong> associated with it?<\/p>\n<p>Davide Hjort <strong>Di Fabio<\/strong> (1990, Popoli) is an <strong>Italian artist living in Copenhagen<\/strong>, where he recently received a Master\u2019s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts. He has exhibited in Denmark and internationally (Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Vejen Kunstmusem and Kunsthal R\u00f8nneb\u00e6ksholm).
