From 22 to 23 September, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli participated in the 38th International Meeting for Peace 2024, organized by the Community of Sant\u2019Egidio and the Archdiocese of Paris: held for the first time in the French capital, the event was an opportunity to discuss the main current geopolitical challenges, along the common thread \u201cimagining peace\u201d.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the Panel \u201cWhich Europe in the Future\u201d, Undersecretary Silli focused on the importance of concretely listening to others\u2019 demands, reaffirming the principles that guide the European Union\u2019s action in foreign policy, focused on respect for the principles of the rule of law and the founding values of liberal democracy, on the primacy of human rights and fundamental freedoms over \u201creasons of State\u201d, and on adherence to the principles and rules of international law, starting with the UN Charter.<\/p>\n
