The <em>leitmotif <\/em>was Argentina&#8217;s model in terms of tourism of the roots, considering both the huge number of Italian descendants and the fact that, over time, compatriots have settled in Argentina, mostly coming from the mosaic of small villages, inland areas and territories of our country that \u201cItalea\u201d promotes.<\/p>\n<p>The first \u201cItalea\u201d event took place on the evening of 27 September at \u201c<em>Casa Paradiso<\/em>\u201d, a space dedicated to the Italian gastronomic tradition of the well-known chef and \u201cMasterchef Argentina\u201d judge, Donato De Santis.<\/p>\n<p>The second initiative was held on the evening of 28 September at the prestigious \u201c<em>Circolo Italiano<\/em>\u201d in the capital, where \u201cItalea\u201d benefits, initiatives and proposals were presented.<\/p>\n<p>The third event &#8211; made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, represented for the occasion by Mayor Macri &#8211; was the \u201c<em>Festival de las Ra\u00edces italianas<\/em>\u201d (Festival of the Italian Roots) on 29 September in the central <em>Plaza Uruguay<\/em>, with the exceptional participation of the people, associations and institutions representing the community, starting with COMITES and <em>Feditalia<\/em>. Many thousands of participants visited the stands of the associations and of \u201cItalea\u201d and attended performances by musicians &#8211; including Antonio Castrignano and Taranta Sound &#8211; and dance groups.<\/p>\n<p>Again this year, the Consulate General in Buenos Aires organised &#8211; together with the most important local training organisation in the sector, namely the \u201c<em>Pizzaioli<\/em> School\u201d &#8211; the 4th \u201cLatin America <em>Pizzaioli <\/em>School Championship\u201d (on 28 and 29 September).<\/p>\n<p>The special edition of the initiative for the Year of the Italian Roots in the World took place in Buenos Aires&#8217; main fair and exhibition centre, \u201c<em>La Rural<\/em>\u201d, as part of the International Tourism Fair of Latin America (FIT) &#8211; and was an ideal anticipation of the \u201cWeek of Italian Cuisine in the World\u201d scheduled for next November.<\/p>\n<p>The event &#8211; visited by 20,000 people &#8211; saw not only the actual competition &#8211; with one hundred <em>pizza<\/em> makers competing in ten categories, and a jury composed of leading Italian chefs, among others &#8211; but also masterclasses, <em>pizza<\/em> courses for children, performances, talks and tastings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Between 27 September and 1 October, \u201cItalea\u201d promotional events were held in Buenos Aires.
