Inaugurated by<strong>Ambassador<\/strong> Marco <strong>Alberti<\/strong> and the <strong>Director of the Institute of Culture<\/strong>, Edoardo <strong>Crisafulli<\/strong>, the exhibition, entitled <strong>\u2018Happy Birthday Marcello\u2019<\/strong>, was conceived and <strong>curated <\/strong>by journalist and writer Francesca <strong>Fabbri Fellini<\/strong>, the director&#8217;s niece, who was present at the inauguration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thirty <\/strong>exceptional <strong>shots<\/strong> by important photographers such as the historical paparazzo Pierluigi <strong>Praturlon<\/strong>, taken from the archives of <strong>Reporters Associati &amp; Archives<\/strong>, immortalise some of the moments of Marcello Mastroianni&#8217;s career, from <strong>\u2018La Dolce Vita\u2019<\/strong>, which made him internationally famous, to <strong>\u2018Marriage Italian Style\u2019<\/strong>, <strong>\u2018A Special Day\u2019<\/strong>, <strong>\u2018Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow\u2019<\/strong>, <strong>\u2018Ginger and Fred\u2019<\/strong>. The exhibition received the <strong>patronage<\/strong> of the \u201c<strong>Mastroianni 100\u201d Committee, <\/strong>chaired by Daniele <strong>Luxardo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, curated by Francesca <strong>Fabbri<\/strong> <strong>Fellini<\/strong> in synergy with the Institute, also celebrates <strong>Sophia Loren&#8217;s 90th birthday<\/strong> (20 September). Loren starred together with Mastroianni in many successful films, both with the public and with critics. The media impact of the exhibition was considerable, also thanks to the interview given by Francesca Fabbri Fellini to Kazakhstan TV&#8217;s First Channel EURASIA (about 17 million viewers).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, together with film critic Oleg <strong>Boretskiy<\/strong>, who also curated a mini-film festival dedicated to Mastroianni, Francesca Fabbri Fellini presented a <strong>special screening of \u201cLa Dolce Vita\u201d<\/strong> in a film theatre full of Mastroianni enthusiasts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Italian Cultural Institute in Almaty is hosting an unprecedented photographic exhibition (28 September-1 November) dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni and his special bond with Federico Fellini.
