Three<\/strong> out of the four award ceremonies<\/strong> scheduled for this year\u2019s “M’illumino d’immenso – International Poetry Translation Award<\/strong>” have taken place. This competition, which began in Mexico<\/strong> in 2018<\/strong>, now spans four continents.<\/p>\n

On 14 October, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Mexico City<\/strong>, the prize for the 7th<\/sup> Edition of “M’illumino d’immenso” for translation from Italian to Spanish<\/strong> was awarded to Helena Aguil\u00e0 Ruzola (<\/strong>Spain).<\/p>\n

On the same day, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo<\/strong>, Fatmaelzahraa Abdalla<\/strong> (Egypt) was honoured as the winner<\/strong> of the 4th<\/sup> Edition of “M’illumino d’immenso” for translation from Italian to Arabic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 15 October, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Rio de Janeiro<\/strong>, the prize was awarded to Mariangela Ragassi<\/strong> (Brazil), winner<\/strong> of the same competition for translation from Italian to Portuguese.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The final ceremony will take place on 19 November at the IILA<\/strong> (Italo-Latin American International Organisation<\/strong>) in Rome, where the prize for the 2nd<\/sup> Edition of “M’illumino d’immenso” for translation from Spanish to Italian <\/strong>will be presented to Valerio Nardoni<\/strong> (Italy).<\/p>\n

The four best translations were selected by four juries<\/strong>, comprising 15 translators and poets from 11 countries<\/strong>. This initiative does not recognise works that have already been translated and published, but rather encourages participants to tackle the translation of two poems chosen by the organisers.<\/p>\n
