Today, Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli took part in the conference \u201cRediscovering Central America and the Gran Caribe: Future Opportunities\u201d at the Guglielmo Marconi University in Rome.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Italian government is strongly committed to re-launching political dialogue with Central America \u2013 an area of the world to which so many Italians have emigrated in the past, with which we share fundamental values and principles, such as the fight against crime as well as compliance with human rights and the rule of law,\u201d said Silli. \u201cItaly intends to strengthen economic cooperation with these countries within the framework of growth diplomacy, thus fostering mutual development and creating synergies in strategic sectors such as technology and ecological transition,\u201d the Undersecretary continued. \u201cHowever, we can also work together fruitfully in the area of culture, leveraging Italy\u2019s enormous cultural heritage,\u201d Silli concluded.<\/p>\n
