The meeting was convened to mark 1,000 days of Russia\u2019s aggression against Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlmost three years after the unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which continues to cause death and destruction on European territory, I reaffirm the Italian Government\u2019s full and convinced support for Kiev and its people,\u201d said Minister Tajani.<\/p>\n<p>The Warsaw meeting will provide an opportunity to assess the situation on the ground, also in light of the latest attacks launched by Russia against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, and the support measures planned by Europe to ensure the defence of Ukraine and the protection of strategic infrastructure ahead of winter. \u201cItaly is at the forefront in providing assistance to guarantee the functioning of essential services and limit the already heavy impact of the war on the civilian population. We are also working towards the future reconstruction of the country: on Wednesday we will host an Italy-Ukraine Business Forum in Rome, also in preparation for the \u2018Ukraine Recovery Conference\u2019 to be held in July 2025 in Italy,\u201d Tajani stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The Warsaw meeting will also address the prospects for EU relations with Moldova and Georgia in the light of the recent elections held in the two countries. These topics were also addressed at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting held today, which was also attended by the Minister.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Brussels, I reiterated the need to maintain our financial, military and economic commitment to enable the Ukrainian Government to negotiate a just peace with Russia,\u201d said Tajani.
