{"id":127156,"date":"2024-11-21T15:35:27","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T14:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2024\/11\/tokyo-kudan-minami-salvatore-sciarrino-in-concerto\/"},"modified":"2024-11-22T13:27:21","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T12:27:21","slug":"tokyo-kudan-minami-salvatore-sciarrino-in-concerto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2024\/11\/tokyo-kudan-minami-salvatore-sciarrino-in-concerto\/","title":{"rendered":"Tokyo, Kudan Minami \u2013 Salvatore Sciarrino in concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With <strong>\u201cAl limite della notte\u201d,<\/strong> the 17<sup>th<\/sup> event in the series of <strong>\u201cConcerti di Tokyo Kudan Minami\u201d,<\/strong> the week dedicated by the Institute to Salvatore<strong> Sciarrino<\/strong>, a leading figure in contemporary Italian music, came to a close on 15 November at the Auditorium of the <strong>Italian Institute of Culture of Tokyo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Organised in collaboration with the <strong>Association for the spread of contemporary Italian art <\/strong>(Tokyo), the week opened with a three-day double <strong>workshop<\/strong> held by Sciarrino himself and dedicated to <strong>young composers<\/strong> and <strong>performers<\/strong>. At the end of these days of work, the <strong>final recital<\/strong> saw the performance of both the pieces composed from scratch by the young musicians and Sciarrino&#8217;s pieces.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the final recital of the workshop, a <strong>lecture<\/strong> by Sciarrino &#8211; effectively translated by <strong>Hidehiko Hinohara<\/strong> of the Tokyo College of Music, who is also a composer and has extensive experience in the Italian music scene &#8211; was held\u00a0on\u00a013\u00a0November.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of bringing Sciarrino to Japan began with the <strong>Japanese premiere of his work \u201cLohengrin<\/strong>2 (1982 and 1984), performed at the Kanagawa Kenmin Hall in Yokohama on 5 and 6 October, as part of the theatre&#8217;s 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary celebrations. Organised by the Kanagawa Arts Foundation with Ai Hashimoto as the protagonist, Yokohama&#8217;s Lohengrin was conducted by <strong>Yoichi Sugiyama<\/strong>, also a composer as well as a conductor, who likewise conducted the final concert at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo on 15 November, featuring <strong>Keiko Murakami<\/strong> (transverse flute), <strong>Kaori Tanaka<\/strong> (clarinet), <strong>Aki Kuroda<\/strong>, (piano), <strong>Aldo Campagnari<\/strong>, (violin), <strong>Yoshiko Hannya<\/strong>, (viola), <strong>Aki Kitajima<\/strong>, (cello), and <strong>Noriko Yakushiji<\/strong>, (soprano).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The concert rhapsodically traced the evolution of Sciarrino&#8217;s music from the early 1970s to the present day<\/strong>, offering Japanese audiences the opportunity to directly relive the unfolding of an artistic experience that has marked the history of contemporary music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"With \u201cAl limite della notte\u201d, the 17th event in the series of \u201cConcerti di Tokyo Kudan Minami\u201d, the week dedicated by the Institute to Salvatore Sciarrino, a leading figure in contemporary Italian music, came to a close on 15 November at the Auditorium of the Italian Institute of Culture of Tokyo.
