{"id":128344,"date":"2024-12-11T15:40:17","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T14:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2024\/12\/settimana-della-cucina-italiana-nel-mondo-2024\/"},"modified":"2024-12-11T16:53:38","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T15:53:38","slug":"settimana-della-cucina-italiana-nel-mondo-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2024\/12\/settimana-della-cucina-italiana-nel-mondo-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 Week of Italian Cuisine in the World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>\u201cWeek of Italian Cuisine in the World<\/strong>\u201d is the annual thematic review dedicated to the <strong>promotion<\/strong> of quality Italian<strong> cuisine<\/strong> and <strong>agri-food products<\/strong>, as promoted by the entire network of<strong> Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes, and ITA Offices abroad<\/strong> through activities that support exports, internationalisation, and incoming tourism flows.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 event, entitled <strong>\u201cMediterranean Diet and Roots Cuisine: Health and Tradition<\/strong>\u201d, was developed around the rediscovery of the close link between <strong>traditional gastronomy<\/strong> and<strong> health.<\/strong> As part of the <strong>9<sup>th<\/sup> Week of Italian Cuisine in the World<\/strong>, all the <strong>Italian Cultural Institutes<\/strong> committed themselves to presenting various events to Italians abroad, including:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo <\/strong>\u2013 16<sup>th<\/sup> edition of <strong>JETCUP<\/strong>, the <strong>competition that selects the best professional Italian wine sommelier working in Japan<\/strong>. Organised by JET (Japan Europe Trading) in collaboration with the Institute, the competition saw <strong>6 sommeliers<\/strong> selected from <strong>75 participants<\/strong> compete in front of an audience of wine enthusiasts and experts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Italian Embassy in Sofia <\/strong>\u2013 This year\u2019s edition opened with a tasting of Italian wines entitled <strong>\u201cITALIA GRAND TOUR DIVINO\u201d,<\/strong> organised by the<strong> Italian Embassy <\/strong>and <strong>the ITA Agency in Sofia<\/strong> at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia, with the aim of celebrating Italian wine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Lyon <\/strong>\u2013 In collaboration with the <strong>Consulate General of Italy in Lyon<\/strong>, the <strong>Italian Chamber of Commerce of Lyon<\/strong> and La Bonne Europe Association, a series of events was organised, such as \u201c<strong>Cucinare con Corto Maltese: Ricette per naviganti e sognatori\u201d \u2013 a discussion <\/strong>with <strong>Michel Pierre,<\/strong> <strong>Hugo<\/strong> <strong>Pratt<\/strong>\u2019s biographer and co-author with Hugo Pratt of the book \u201c<em>Cucinare con Corto Maltese<\/em>\u201d, with a preface by <strong>Massimo Bottura<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Italian Cultural Institute of New York \u2013 <\/strong>The theme of the<strong> \u201cIngredients\/Ingredienti.<\/strong> <strong>I segreti della cucina italiana\u201d <\/strong>event was the adaptation of the Mediterranean diet outside Italy and how it changes when it comes into contact with other cultures.
