Cr\u00f3nica, vida, amor\u201d<\/strong>, curated by Marco <strong>Meneguzzo <\/strong>and with the collaboration of the<strong> Archivio Letizia Battaglia<\/strong>, in the presence of the <strong>Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago<\/strong>, Cristina <strong>Di Giorgio<\/strong>, the <strong>Secretary of the Legation of the Italian Embassy in Santiago<\/strong>, Althea <strong>Cenciarelli<\/strong>, and the <strong>Director of the MAC Museum<\/strong>, Daniel <strong>Cruz<\/strong>, which will remain open to the public until 26 January.<\/p>\n<p>The Chilean stop was organised by the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago <\/strong>and <strong>the MAC Museum of Contemporary Art<\/strong>, in collaboration with the<strong> Italian Embassy in Chile <\/strong>and the<strong> Italian Cultural Association<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is supported by <strong>the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong> and by the work of the <strong>network of Italian Cultural Institutes in Caracas, C\u00f3rdoba, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Mexico City<\/strong>, to promote <strong>Italian contemporary photography<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are particularly happy to have brought Battaglia\u2019s work to the slopes of the Andes right at the MAC Museum. Exhibiting these photographs means giving the Chilean public the opportunity to get to know our country from a perspective that is certainly different from the one they are used to: undoubtedly harsher and more complex, but at the same time deeply touching and fascinating,\u201d commented Cristina <strong>Di Giorgio<\/strong>, <strong>Director of the IIC in Santiago<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The selection of <strong>eighty-eight photographs by Letizia Battaglia <\/strong>traces, from her beginnings to the present day, the<strong> extraordinary career <\/strong>of one of the bravest photojournalists of her time.
