The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is on a mission to Israel and Palestine, where he will meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa\u2019ar, and the Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mohammed Mustafa.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy visit aims to demonstrate Italy\u2019s commitment to strengthening peace through dialogue and building a future of hope in the Middle East,\u201d Minister Tajani stated. \u201cThe entry into force of the agreement provides a historic opportunity for the Israeli people, the Palestinian people, and the entire region,\u201d the Minister continued, emphasising how Italy has supported all mediation efforts to end hostilities and is ready to do its part, alongside international partners, to help guarantee peace and foster reconstruction.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will confirm to both Israeli and Palestinian authorities the Italian Government\u2019s commitment to alleviating the painful conditions of the civilian population, which has suffered so much. Our humanitarian efforts will continue and further strengthen, including through the \u2018Food for Gaza\u2019 initiative,\u201d the Minister said, also highlighting the importance of allowing large-scale humanitarian aid access across the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
Tajani will then reaffirm the Italian Government\u2019s utmost attention to the issue of post-war reconstruction in Gaza. The theme of humanitarian assistance for the population will also be the focus of a meeting the Minister will have with the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.<\/p>\n
Finally, in Israel, the Minister will also chair a meeting with the business community, alongside Minister Sa\u2019ar, with the participation of the President of Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas. \u201cThe meeting will provide an opportunity to illustrate investment opportunities between the two countries within the framework of the growth diplomacy initiatives we want to continue exploring, alongside our businesses,\u201d Tajani said. \u201cEconomic cooperation and investments, which can be developed with a presence not only in Israel but across the region, will help stabilise the area. The path to peace will be long and complex, but it must also be pursued with these tools.\u201d<\/p>\n
