{"id":1311,"date":"2020-12-15T09:49:47","date_gmt":"2020-12-15T08:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2020\/12\/70-anniversario-dell-unhcr-2\/"},"modified":"2020-12-15T09:49:47","modified_gmt":"2020-12-15T08:49:47","slug":"70-anniversario-dell-unhcr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2020\/12\/70-anniversario-dell-unhcr\/","title":{"rendered":"70th Anniversary of the UNHCR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, joins the celebrations marking the 70<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) emphasising that: \u201cSince the early days of the Geneva-based organization, Italy has supported the protection of refugees and displaced and stateless persons as a prerequisite for building a fairer world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Foreign Minister, \u201csince the post-war period, the geographical areas where people are most vulnerable may have changed, but not the rightful human need to assist them, a mission in which the Geneva-based organisation has played a fundamental role worldwide.
