{"id":132569,"date":"2025-02-26T14:22:54","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T13:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2025\/02\/roma-presentazione-del-libro-gli-italiani-nelle-terre-boeme\/"},"modified":"2025-02-27T09:52:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T08:52:18","slug":"roma-presentazione-del-libro-gli-italiani-nelle-terre-boeme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2025\/02\/roma-presentazione-del-libro-gli-italiani-nelle-terre-boeme\/","title":{"rendered":"Rome: presentation of the book Gli Italiani nelle Terre Boeme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Rome and the Czech Centre in Rome, in cooperation with the Eleutheria Foundation in Prague, held a <strong>Czech-Italian evening<\/strong> in Rome, in the Sala della Protomoteca of the Campidoglio, during which the book <strong>\u2018<em>Gli Italiani nelle Terre Boeme<\/em>\u2019<\/strong> (Italians in the Czech Lands) was presented.<\/p>\n<p>The new publishing project, carried out by <strong>Eleutheria<\/strong> in cooperation with the <strong>Embassy of Italy in Prague<\/strong>, was illustrated by the Director of the Strahov Monastery Library in Prague, Gejza <strong>\u0160idlovsk\u00fd<\/strong>, and the President of the <strong>Eleutheria Foundation<\/strong>, Francesco Augusto <strong>Razetto<\/strong>. During the evening, which was attended by many authorities, including <strong>Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic<\/strong> Mauro <strong>Marsili<\/strong>, pieces of <strong>baroque music<\/strong> were also performed by the trio consisting of Davide <strong>Pozzi<\/strong> (harpsichord), Laura <strong>Scipioni<\/strong> (baroque violin) and Jakub <strong>Kydl\u00ed\u010dek<\/strong> (flute).<\/p>\n<p>The book, published in <strong>Czech and Italian<\/strong> with an extensive set of photographs, was edited by Francesco Augusto <strong>Razetto<\/strong>, Ottaviano <strong>Razetto<\/strong>, Flavio <strong>Mela<\/strong> and Genny <strong>Di Bert<\/strong>, with the aim of furthering the <strong>historical and artistic relations between Italy and the Czech Republic<\/strong> through the studies and testimonies of numerous specialists. Featuring an introduction by historian Franco <strong>Cardini<\/strong>, the work covers events from the <strong>first Italian contacts with the Bohemian lands in the 10th century<\/strong> to the present-day friendship between Italy and the Czech Republic, presenting what Ambassador Marsili believes to be one of the <strong>first forms of cultural integration experienced in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The book includes a specific in-depth examination of the <strong>\u2018Italian Congregation of Prague\u2019<\/strong>, founded in <strong>1573<\/strong> and active until 1947, whose historical memory is still tangible in the buildings of the Mannerist chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven, in the very central Karlova Street, and the former Italian Hospital of Mal\u00e1 Strana, today the seat of the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Rome and the Czech Centre in Rome, in cooperation with the Eleutheria Foundation in Prague, held a Czech-Italian evening in Rome, in the Sala della Protomoteca of the Campidoglio, during which the book \u2018Gli Italiani nelle Terre Boeme\u2019 (Italians in the Czech Lands) was presented.
