{"id":133548,"date":"2025-03-21T11:02:02","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T10:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2025\/03\/opera-amore-metaopera-in-un-atto\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T13:26:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T12:26:07","slug":"opera-amore-metaopera-in-un-atto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2025\/03\/opera-amore-metaopera-in-un-atto\/","title":{"rendered":"Opera, Amore \u2013 Metaopera in one act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Born from a <strong>collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Theatre, and the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino<\/strong>, the performance \u201c<strong><em>Opera, Amore \u2013 Metaopera in One Act<\/em><\/strong>\u201d is a journey through the history of <strong>Italian melodrama<\/strong> and a tribute to the history of <strong>Italian opera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The first event of the <strong>&#8220;Maggio Metropolitano&#8221; 2025<\/strong>, the show will debut on <strong>Sunday, 23 March, in Florence<\/strong>, at the Luca Giordano Hall in <strong>Palazzo Medici Riccardi<\/strong>, where the first two absolute performances will take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Opera, Amore<\/em>\u201d explores and tells <strong>over four centuries of the history of Italian melodrama<\/strong>. The traditional love triangle of opera (her, him, the other), in which the love between the first two characters is contrasted by the third, traverses the great masterpieces of opera from <strong>Monteverdi<\/strong> to <strong>Puccini<\/strong>, passing through<strong> Pergolesi, Mozart, Paisiello, Cimarosa, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Mascagni,<\/strong> and <strong>Giordano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Opera, Amore<\/em>\u201d is an <strong>original project<\/strong> that allows us <strong>to bring<\/strong> the beauty and richness of opera <strong>to the world through the network of Italian Cultural Institutes<\/strong> \u2013 states Marco Maria <strong>Cerbo<\/strong>, Head of the Unit for Coordination of Italian Cultural Institutes. \u201cWe conceived it with an <strong>international audience<\/strong> in mind, for spectators who know little about opera or who wish to deepen their understanding of its history and mechanics.
