The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, received today at the Foreign Ministry the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef S\u00edkela, with whom he discussed the importance of strengthening EU instruments in priority areas such as energy, connectivity and immigration.<\/p>\n
The future of the EU’s partnerships and collaboration with key international partners was at the heart of the conversation, with a focus on the importance of providing more investment to ensure stability and development in regions such as Africa, the Balkans, Latin America and the Indo-Pacific.<\/p>\n
With specific reference to Africa, Minister Tajani recalled that, thanks to initiatives such as the Mattei Plan, the Italian agenda is in full synergy with the EU’s external action. Italy also contributes wholeheartedly to the \u201cGlobal Gateway\u201d strategy through the Lobito Corridor and the coffee initiative, in full cooperation with EU and G7 partners. With regard to Latin America, Minister Tajani reaffirmed that the traditional presence of Italian companies in the region can contribute to the implementation of European priorities, particularly in supporting industrialisation processes.<\/p>\n
