The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will be on mission in India and Japan from 11 to 14 April for meetings with institutional authorities, representatives of the local and Italian business communities, and members of the Italian community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndia and Japan are key countries for Italian foreign policy, especially in light of the excellent political, economic, and entrepreneurial relations,\u201d stated the Minister. \u201cStrengthening ties with India and Japan is among the Government\u2019s top priorities to boost exports and support the internationalisation of our businesses, while promoting Italian craftsmanship, technological innovation, and the heritage that sets Italy apart on the global stage\u201d. Both countries have been identified as priority non-EU markets to be developed under the \u201cItalian Export Action Plan\u201d presented by the Government.<\/p>\n
In New Delhi, Tajani will be received by the President of the Republic of India, Droupadi Murmu, and will meet with the Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. Together, they will co-chair a Business, Scientific and Technological Forum aimed at fostering relationships between Italian companies, Indian government agencies, and industry associations, with the goal of exploring policies, objectives and projects in the scientific and technological sectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe strongly believe in the Italy\u2013India partnership, particularly in light of the Joint Strategic Action Plan aimed at strengthening our bilateral ties in key areas of cooperation. Energy transition, connectivity, advanced manufacturing, defence, security, tourism, migration and mobility are just some of the sectors we intend to promote together during the 2025\u20132029 period. In 2024, trade between Italy and India exceeded \u20ac14 billion, with Italian exports growing by over 30% in the past seven years. The spirit of my visit to New Delhi is to give further momentum to these relations,\u201d declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
