{"id":136577,"date":"2025-05-15T19:22:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T17:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2025\/05\/missione-del-sottosegretario-silli-a-barbados-e-saint-kitts-e-nevis-per-incontri-istituzionali\/"},"modified":"2025-05-16T10:59:26","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T08:59:26","slug":"missione-del-sottosegretario-silli-a-barbados-e-saint-kitts-e-nevis-per-incontri-istituzionali","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2025\/05\/missione-del-sottosegretario-silli-a-barbados-e-saint-kitts-e-nevis-per-incontri-istituzionali\/","title":{"rendered":"Undersecretary Silli\u2019s mission to Barbados and Saint Kitts and Nevis for institutional meetings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Undersecretary of State Giorgio Silli carried out a mission to Barbados and Saint Kitts and Nevis for a series of institutional meetings with representatives of the governments of the two Caribbean states, in preparation for two important international events scheduled for next autumn: the 12<sup>th<\/sup> Italy\u2013Latin America and Caribbean Conference in Rome and the 4<sup>th<\/sup> EU\u2013CELAC Summit in Colombia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">During his meetings in Barbados with the Minister of Finance, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President of the Caribbean Development Bank, and with members of the local Italian community, Silli highlighted the importance of their contribution to the life of the country that has welcomed them, and reiterated the closeness and support of the Italian Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Undersecretary was received by the Prime Minister, the Governor-General, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This marked the first official visit by a representative of the Italian Government to the country since 2007 \u2013 a significant opportunity to revitalise bilateral political dialogue and to demonstrate Italy\u2019s genuine commitment to the relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In all meetings, the Undersecretary expressed Italy\u2019s strong interest in the Caribbean region and its willingness to deepen economic partnerships, including through international financial institutions.
