Organised by the <strong>Daniele Tamagni Foundation<\/strong>, \u201c<strong>Daniele Tamagni \u2013 <em>Style Is Life<\/em><\/strong>\u201d has arrived in Dakar in a <strong>site-specific version<\/strong>, curated by <strong>A\u00efda Muluneh<\/strong> (who conceived the original project together with <strong>Chiara Bardelli Nonino<\/strong>), in collaboration with the prestigious Mus\u00e9e Th\u00e9odore Monod d\u2019Art africain \u2013 IFAN.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is part of a programme <strong>promoting Italian photography abroad<\/strong>, supported by the <strong>Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity<\/strong> of the <strong>Ministry of Culture<\/strong> and the <strong>Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>The exhibition journey begins at the Mus\u00e9e Th\u00e9odore Monod d\u2019Art africain<\/strong>, offering an overview of Tamagni\u2019s photography through <strong>80 images<\/strong> of his most significant works, juxtaposed with the museum\u2019s historic collections of fabrics and garments, specially arranged for the occasion on the first floor, under the <strong>curatorship of El Hadji Malick Ndiaye<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition showcases collections dedicated to the <strong><em>sapeurs<\/em><\/strong> <strong>of the SAPE<\/strong> (Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People) from Brazzaville, the <strong>Dakar Fashion Week in Senegal<\/strong>, <strong>musicians from Botswana<\/strong>, <strong>urban crews from Johannesburg<\/strong>, and the <strong>cholitas of Bolivia.<\/strong> The exhibition continues at the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute<\/strong>, featuring two sections: the first is dedicated to <strong>Daniele Tamagni\u2019s figure<\/strong>, retracing his career, achievements, and influence on fashion and contemporary photography.
