Participants will include German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs Diego Mart\u00ednez Bel\u00edo, British Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty, and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs\u2019 Director General for Political and Security Affairs Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Mondoloni. Today\u2019s meeting marks the first Weimar Plus Ministerial extended to include NATO.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/SQZ2Hqs-3g8?si=67U_HF82cs_hIho0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Weimar Plus format is an expansion of the traditional Weimar Triangle \u2013 comprising France, Germany, and Poland.<\/p>\n<p>The first working session will focus on Euro-Atlantic security and will offer participants an opportunity to reaffirm unity, a shared vision on defence and collective security, and the determination to strengthen the European pillar of the Atlantic Alliance while preserving strong ties across both sides of the Atlantic. In this context, today\u2019s Ministerial represents an important moment of dialogue ahead of the NATO Summit in The Hague.<\/p>\n<p>The second working session will reiterate partners\u2019 support for Kyiv in pursuing a just peace that guarantees Ukraine adequate security assurances. In the presence of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha, the meeting will strongly reaffirm the ongoing commitment alongside the Ukrainian people to identify a credible peace path and initiate the country\u2019s reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>On the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting, bilateral meetings are scheduled for Minister Antonio Tajani with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Minister Antonio Tajani will chair a Weimar Plus format Ministerial meeting today at Villa Madama.
