It\u2019s also an adventure in a land very different from Italy, a land that\u2019s seeking a way out from over 40 years of war. The latest dig focuses on the ancient city of Ur, which dates from 2600 to 2200 BC and at that time was located near the River Euphrates. As Professor D\u2019Agostino summed up the campaign, \u201cdigging the past serves as a foundation for the future\u201d.
