In support of this statement, the Vice President cited both the BIST-Nasdaq OMX accord after the start of corruption investigations, as well as the volume of foreign investor property stocks (63-63%) quoted on the Turkish index. The BIST is based principally on stocks in the steel and iron sector (for which Turkey is the world\u2019s sixth largest producer) and in agriculture.
