{"id":140568,"date":"2025-07-15T11:04:47","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T09:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2025\/07\/atene-nicola-piovani-in-concerto\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T11:38:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T09:38:49","slug":"atene-nicola-piovani-in-concerto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2025\/07\/atene-nicola-piovani-in-concerto\/","title":{"rendered":"Athens, Nicola Piovani in concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Federico Fellini, Roberto Benigni, the Taviani Brothers: four masters of Italian cinema who conquered the international scene thanks to the mastery of their movies, giving popular culture some of the most beloved soundtracks. <strong><em>Maestro<\/em> Nicola Piovani<\/strong>, the composer of those soundtracks, celebrated them in a symphonic concert at the Odeon Herodes Atticus in Athens.<\/p>\n<p>The concert \u201cGreat Films, Great Music,\u201d a co-production of <strong><em>Megaro Moussikis Athinon<\/em><\/strong> (Athens Music Palace), the <strong>Embassy of Italy in<\/strong> <strong>Athens<\/strong>, and the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute in Athens<\/strong>, as part of the Athens-Epidaurus Festival, saw Maestro Piovani conduct the Athens State Orchestra, presenting three orchestral suites that led the audience to discover (or rediscover) the four great Italian directors mentioned above: the <strong>Taviani Suite<\/strong> (with music from the movies <em>Fiorile,<\/em> <em>The Sun Also Shines at Night, The Night of the Shooting Stars<\/em>, and <em>Good Morning, Babylon<\/em>), the <strong>Benigni Suite<\/strong> (with music from the movie <em>Life is Beautiful<\/em>, for which Nicola Piovani was awarded an Oscar), and the <strong>Fellini Suite<\/strong> (with music from the movies <em>Intervista<\/em>, <em>The Voice of the Moon<\/em>, and <em>Ginger and Fred<\/em>).
