As it does every year, during the Fare Cinema Festival<\/em>, the Consulate General of Italy in Rosario, in collaboration with “El Cairo, Cine Publico<\/em>“, organises a series of meetings dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema. The Festival features free admission every Sunday in July and August.<\/p>\n

Contemporary Italian cinema speaks to us through a shared emotional language, ranging from the intimate to the political sphere, even touching on the poetic sphere. The Festival provides an overview of current productions, with stories of childhood, mourning, immigration, femininity, and desire that portray Italy\u2019s profile and multifaceted history. Featuring directors such as Ferzan \u00d6zpetek, Alice Rohrwacher, and Neri Marcor\u00e8, the movies chosen take the audience on a journey through very different stories.<\/p>\n

\u00d6zpetek’s “Diamanti<\/em>” recounts the stories of a prestigious Roman atelier<\/em> in the 1970s.<\/p>\n

In Alice Rohrwacher’s latest movie, after his release from prison, English archaeologist Arthur reunites with his accomplices, a group of thieves who plunder ancient Etruscan tombs. In Neri Marcor\u00e9’s movie, the protagonist reluctantly decides to sacrifice himself and play as goalkeeper in the soccer match organised by his company, an obsession of his boss who insists his employees play a match every year.<\/p>\n
