The initiative was launched last January by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, as part of Italy\u2019s \u201cgrowth diplomacy\u201d strategy, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the country\u2019s main fashion industry associations.<\/p>\n<p>This travelling format aims to promote Italian production abroad and support the internationalisation of companies within the fashion sector \u2013 an industry comprising over 62,000 businesses and more than 500,000 workers \u2013 through coordinated action across the Italian economic system. The project works in synergy with the MAECI-ITA lead generation communication campaign \u201cOpportunitaly\u201d, an export acceleration programme designed to generate new commercial contacts in key target markets.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Rome in January with ANFAO, the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, Confapi Uniontessile, Confartigianato Moda, Confartigianato Orafi, CNA Federmoda, CNA Orafi, Confindustria Accessori Moda, Confindustria FEDERORAFI, Confindustria Moda \u2013 Textile and Fashion Federation, and Altagamma.<\/p>\n<p>The first stop will take place at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka \u2013 a prestigious showcase for the Italian economic system\u2013 with the exhibition \u201cItaly is Fashion\u201d, curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili and organised by the Consulate General of Italy, the Expo Commissioner\u2019s Office and the Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Country Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming 2025 events of the Italian Fashion Days in the World will take place in early September in Dubai; in mid-October in Brazil, with events scheduled in S\u00e3o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte; and at the end of October in India, with events planned in New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The inaugural edition of the Italian Fashion Days in the World (Giornate della Moda Italiana nel Mondo \u2013 GMIM) will begin on Sunday, 3 August.
