On August 24, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will attend the Rimini Meeting. This year’s edition is expected to attract over 800,000 visitors, and now in its 46th year, the Meeting continues to stand out as a major international event promoting the values of peace and cooperation.<\/p>\n
In the morning, Minister Tajani will attend Holy Mass presided over by the President of the Italian Bishops\u2019 Conference (CEI), Cardinal Matteo Zuppi. Later in the day, he will take part in a dialogue titled \u201cThe Presence of the Christian Community in Syria and Religious Freedom\u201d alongside Monsignor Hanna Jallouf, Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo (Syria). In the afternoon, the Minister will meet with journalists for a press point at around 3:45 PM.<\/p>\n
Given the current international context, the Farnesina has dedicated its international pavilion to the theme \u201cNo Crisis is Distant\u201d, with a particular focus on Italy\u2019s commitment to supporting populations affected by humanitarian crises. Minister Tajani will also visit the exhibition area dedicated to the Crisis Unit, specially recreated within the pavilion to showcase emergency interventions for protecting Italian citizens abroad, as well as assistance efforts for Palestinian children brought to Italy for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
A particularly meaningful element\u2014highlighting Italy’s commitment to saving lives and protecting human dignity\u2014is the inclusion of a space within the Farnesina pavilion dedicated to the World Food Programme (WFP). Italy works closely with the United Nations to support the \u201cFood for Gaza\u201d initiative, launched in March 2024 by Minister Tajani and the WFP Executive Director, in collaboration with FAO and the International Federation of the Red Cross, to address the humanitarian emergency in Gaza.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Ministry\u2019s presence in Rimini is further enriched by the Farnesina Collection, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year by featuring a selection of works from its traveling exhibition \u201cIdentity Beyond Borders\u201d at the Meeting.<\/p>\n
