Italy: Decree establishing new \u201cbrand\u201d submitted to Senate<\/STRONG><\/P> \u201cThe decree establishing the \u2018Italian Quality\u2019 brand, of which I was first signatory, was approved today by the Senate\u2019s Industry Committee. The public consultation has now started with the representatives of employers and workers to arrive at a plan that meets with true agreement by the parties\u201d. The announcement was made by the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Valeria Fedeli (PD).<\/P> \u201cThe creation of the Italian quality brand comes a time when Europe is awaiting the first steps [\u2026] on a \u2018label of origin\u2019 and is designed to protect and enhance Italian quality and exc<\/A>ellence. It is a collective brand, voluntary and owned by the Italian state. It can be added to the \u2018made in\u2019 label, which enterprises can use as long as their fiscal domicile is in Italy\u201d, continued Fedeli. \u201cIt is a guarantee against counterfeiting, a guarantee in which to invest resources to promote \u2018Italian Quality\u2019 branded products in global markets. According to Bank of Italy figures, foreign visitors to Italy spent 2,766 billion, an increase of 2.1%, while Italians travelling abroad spent 1,488 euros, a decrease of 1.2%.
