Participants examined the construction of democracy by Italian Catholics in the Christian Democrat party during the post-war transition from the end of Fascism to the Constituent Assembly and the<A name=_GoBack><\/A>n into the early days of the Republic. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Italian Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires, Antonello De Riu, underscored that Italy\u2019s support for Tunisia\u2019s democratic transition has always been inspired by \u201cfull respect for the country\u2019s historic roots and cultural heritage\u201d.
