Diplomats \u2013 including Italian ambassador to Israel Francesco Maria Talo’ \u2013 joined business persons, artists and others from cultural spheres despite the bad weather to meet in the hall where the painting is mounted, where they attended a concert organised by the Italy-Israel Foundation for Culture and Art and the Italian Embassy and Cultural Institute.<\/P>

<\/STRONG><\/P> \u201c<\/STRONG>From theRenaissance to Prayer<\/STRONG>\u201d<\/STRONG><\/P> <\/STRONG><\/P> The evening, entitled \u201cFrom the Renaissance to Prayer\u201d, was a tribute to the painting, with music providing the connection. The event began with the voice of Israeli artist David D’Or performing \u201cKol Mehashamaim\u201d (A voice from Heaven), the prayer of an angel, in reference to the Angel Gabriel of the painting; next came Schubert\u2019s \u201cAve Maria\u201d, sung by soprano Alla Vasilevitski of the Israeli Opera, accompanied by the European Musicians Youth Orchestra. The two selections allowed the Museum\u2019s curator Shlomit Steinberg to highlight the significance of the fresco set in Nazareth. Finally, a performance by the string quintet presented by Paolo Olmi \u2013 who will be conducting the Christmas Concert in Bethlehem \u2013 with \u201cAncient Dances and Arias for Lute\u201d by Ottorino Respighi, inspired by Renaissance music. The grand finale came with Niccol\u00f2 Paganini\u2019s \u201cPrayer Sonata\u201d, and variations on the theme of Gioachino Rossini\u2019s \u201cDal tuo stellato soglio\u201d, performed by violin soloist Roman Kim.
