Vietnam<\/STRONG>: Italy showcases fashion, wines and healthcare<\/STRONG><\/P> A series of events recently held in Vietnam aimed at the integrated promotion of Italy and its products was a resounding public and media success. Within the context of a MISE\/ICE\/UNIONCAMERE operational agreement, the Embassy of Italy and ICE Office in Ho Chi Minh City sponsored a series of commercial promotion initiatives for the fashion sector that involved firms from the Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Marche and Tuscany regions. Firm representatives held more than 100 B2B meetings between 11 and 15 November in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, visited the main distribution centres of both cities, displayed samples of their wares at Casa Italia and participated in two high-profile events promoted by the Embassy. In the first of these, 23 creations ranging from costumes to personal apparel, along with contemporary and archival photographs (Maison Gattinoni), highlighted the relationship between the rising Italian fashion scene and many international film stars against the backdrop of the City of Rome. Similar public success was had by the \u201cAngels of Italy\u201d fashion show mounted by Vietnam\u2019s top designer Minh Anh on 15 November. Parallel to this event, the ICE Office joined PromoSiena in organising a series of wine-tasting events involving 24 Tuscan producers, who were able to meet with more than 300 local distributors within the context of \u201cTuscany-A Land of Wine\u201d, which concluded with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Siena Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam Sommelier\u2019s Association. Further prospects emerged from meetings held by the Tuscan delegation with representatives of Vietnam\u2019s ministries of health, industry and trade concerning possible future collaboration in the training, management and performance assessment of public hospital facilities, as well as the possible supply of medical equipment.
