The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met today with the leadership of ITA, SIMEST and SACE to review Italian exports and the Italian Foreign Ministry reform, which envisages the establishment of the \u201cDirectorate-General for Growth\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cExports account for 40% of GDP and play a key role for our country. The internationalisation of our productive fabric is a priority and a cornerstone of growth diplomacy,\u201d Minister Tajani opened the operational meeting with the CEOs of SIMEST and SACE, Regina Corradini D\u2019Arienzo and Michele Pignotti, and the President of the Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Minister Tajani emphasised that the strategic priority of the new \u201cDirectorate-General for Growth\u201d will be to support Italian excellence abroad and to promote the attraction of investments into Italy. A new \u201cExport Operations Room\u201d will also be established, becoming a central point for managing all matters related to the growth and internationalisation of businesses.<\/p>\n
Within the framework of the Export Plan, new initiatives were confirmed today, including the Italy-China Intergovernmental Committee (8 October), Business Forums with Senegal (29 October), Saudi Arabia (25 November), India and Montenegro (December).<\/p>\n
The Minister also announced the date of the third edition of the National Export Conference, which will be held on 17 December in Milan as part of the States General of Diplomacy.
