Conceived and curated by Rachel Brumana, it has been committed since its first edition in 2019 to bringing to Brazil leading artists and performances from the Italian contemporary scene, representing the country&#8217;s most recent artistic production and engaging with the local scene.<\/p>\n<p>Two significant performances in SCENA&#8217;s history returned to Brazil: <strong>First Love<\/strong>, by <strong>Marco D&#8217;Agostin<\/strong>, a young, award-winning Italian choreographer and dancer, and <strong>Curva Cieca<\/strong>, by <strong>Muna Mussie<\/strong>, an Italian artist born in Eritrea. On 25 and 26 October, First Love by Marco D&#8217;Agostin participated in the <strong>MIAC \u2013 <em>Mostra Internacional de Artes Contempor\u00e2nea<\/em><\/strong> in Porto Alegre, and was later performed at the <strong>Sesc (<em>Servi\u00e7o Social do Com\u00e9rcio<\/em>)<\/strong> in Sorocaba on 29 and 30 October.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curator and creator Rachel Brumana<\/strong> explained: &#8220;These works marked SCENA&#8217;s journey, thanks to the positive response they received, and for this reason, they were rerun in two SESC locations outside S\u00e3o Paulo.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The project&#8217;s new format stems from the curator&#8217;s long-standing desire to present these works in other States and engage with new audiences, intertwining with the work of the local Italian Cultural Institute, which is also committed to multiple projects that engage with a much broader area than the urban core of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Week of the Contemporary Italian Scene (SCENA) returned to S\u00e3o Paulo.
