On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, from\u00a010:00 a.m.,<\/strong> Villa Madama<\/em> will host the First International Conference on Italophonia, organised at the initiative of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Societ\u00e0 Dante Alighieri<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Conference, attended by ministerial delegations from over twenty countries, will mark the launch of the Community of Italophonia \u2013 a new forum for international cooperation bringing together the diverse national and international, state and non-state Italophone stakeholders worldwide. The Community of Italophonia aims to foster political dialogue and international cooperation; to strengthen exchanges and links among Italophone societies and individuals; to promote cultural, scientific and academic relations among its members; and to enhance, promote and safeguard the Italian language across the world.<\/p>\n

Speakers at the Conference will include, among others, the Minister of Foreign Affairs,\u00a0Antonio Tajani<\/strong>; the Minister of University and Research,\u00a0Anna Maria Bernini<\/strong>; the President of the European Parliament,\u00a0Roberta Metsola<\/strong>\u00a0(via video message); the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland,\u00a0Ignazio Cassis<\/strong>; the Director General of the IAEA,\u00a0Rafael Mariano Grossi<\/strong>; the President of the Societ\u00e0 Dante Alighieri,\u00a0Andrea Riccardi<\/strong>; the Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia,\u00a0Matej Ar\u010don<\/strong>; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania,\u00a0Oana \u021aoiu<\/strong>; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo,\u00a0Donika G\u00ebrvalla-Schwarz<\/strong>; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia,\u00a0Abdisalam Abdi Ali<\/strong>; the President of NIAF,\u00a0Robert Allegrini<\/strong>; the UN Special Envoy for Road Safety and former Ferrari CEO,\u00a0Jean Todt<\/strong>; and the Undersecretary of State for Education and Merit, Paola Frassinetti<\/strong>. Other high-level ministerial representatives from participating countries will also be present.<\/p>\n

Three thematic sessions will follow. The first roundtable discussion will address the theme of “Italofonia as a community of values and dialogue,” with the participation of representatives from journalism, civil society, and the ecclesiastical world. A second roundtable discussion will explore the theme of Italophonia as a “driver of development and growth,” with speakers from international authorities and representatives from the private sector. Finally, a third roundtable discussion will focus on “Italophonia as an instrument of cultural diplomacy,” with the participation of representatives from the international cultural and artistic scene. Representatives from civil society will include,\u00a0inter alia,<\/em> former Brazilian footballer Antonio Careca<\/strong> and English choreographer Carolyn Smith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to cover the Conference may request accreditation\u00a0by 4:00 p.m. on 17 November<\/strong>\u00a0by registering at\u00a0https:\/\/portaleaccreditamento.esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0and uploading the required documentation. Those already registered on the online Portal and who have received confirmation from the system may access their profile and select participation in the event.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, journalists, photographers and cameramen \u00a0can obtain accreditation by sending their request by email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0(tel. 06 3691-3432 \u00a0\u2013 3078-8210 or 8573), as follows:<\/p>\n

for representatives of the Italian\u00a0press\u00a0organisations:
\n\u2013 a copy of an identity document,
\n\u2013 a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or \u2013 in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.<\/p>\n

For representatives of foreign\u00a0press\u00a0organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
\n\u2013 copy of an identity document;
\n\u2013 letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
\n\u2013 Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the\u00a0press\u00a0organisation represented.<\/p>\n

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.<\/p>\n

Badges<\/strong>\u00a0must be collected in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, central entrance (left-hand side),\u00a0on Tuesday, 18 November, between\u00a08:15 a.m. and\u00a08:45 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As it is not possible to reach Villa Madama with private vehicles, accredited journalists will be transported to Villa Madama via a shuttle service operating from the central entrance of the Farnesina (round trip), available until the conclusion of the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n
