The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli, participated today\u2014on behalf of Minister Antonio Tajani\u2014in the opening session of the second edition of the \u201cMexico\u2013Italy Business & Investment Forum\u201d, held at the Unioncamere headquarters in Rome and organised by the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Italy in cooperation with the Embassy of Mexico and Unioncamere.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur bilateral relations are excellent and continue to advance, with considerable potential for further strengthening in the areas of investment and trade\u2014an objective to which the Italian Government is firmly committed,\u201d Undersecretary Silli remarked, recalling Minister Tajani\u2019s recent mission to Mexico. Mexico is, in fact, a strategic partner for Italy across the board: it is our main export market in Latin America\u2014with Italian exports reaching EUR 6.6 billion in 2024 and total trade exceeding EUR 8 billion\u2014and it represents a privileged gateway to both North and South America for Italian companies, whose direct investments in the country now exceed EUR 7 billion. Within this framework of strong economic and industrial complementarity, the Government also hopes that Italy may serve as a strategic platform for Mexican companies seeking access to European markets. It is for these reasons that Mexico features among the priority countries of the Export Action Plan strongly promoted by Minister Tajani as part of Italy\u2019s growth diplomacy strategy.<\/p>\n
