Our country has two important events coming up: an Italo-African energy conference in 2014, and the 2015 Milan EXPO with its theme \u201cNourish life. Energy for the planet\u201d, which could become \u201ca generator of future good practices\u201d, Pistelli said.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>&#8220;Common policies&#8221; needed for the &#8220;rational, efficient and sustainable use of energy\u201d<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cCommon policies\u201d are<STRONG> <\/STRONG>needed for the &#8220;rational, efficient and sustainable use of energy\u201d, underscored Foreign Ministry Secretary General Michele Valensise, adding that \u201cthe physical inter-dependence of energy grids (such as the TAP) will have to lead to global energy governance\u201d.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>IEA: four interventions to keep global warming to 2 degrees <\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>The data on global warming are alarming: average temperatures threaten to rise by 4.5 degrees over the long term. In its report, the IEA suggests 4 interventions aimed at keeping that increase under 2 degrees: adopting specific energy efficiency measures, restricting the use of coal plants, reducing methane emissions and eliminating fossil fuel subsidies.
