The exhibition \u201cTitian 1488\/90-1576. From the collections of Italy\u2019s museums\u201d has opened at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and will run until 29 September 2013. The first major exhibition of the Venetian master organised in Russia, the event is the highligh<\/A>t of the cultural promotion initiatives following the Year of Italian Culture and Language, in 2011. <\/P> Curated by Prof. Giovanni Villa from the University of Bergamo, the exhibition features 11 extraordinary master-works that illustrate Titian\u2019s pivotal role in the history of art over the last 500 years.<\/P> Russian Culture Minister awards Italian Ambassador <\/STRONG><\/P> The Russian Culture Minister, Vladimir Medinsky, said that Moscow greatly appreciated the effort involved in bringing these masterpieces to Russia. Noting the great improvement in bilateral relations, not just in the cultural sphere, after the \u201cItaly-Russia Year\u201d of 2011, he presented the Italian Ambassador to Moscow, Antonio Zanardi Landi, with the highest award of the Russian Cultural Ministry. <\/P> Culture and the \u201cMade in Italy\u201d brand<\/STRONG><\/P> Ambassador Zanardi pointed out that the exhibition aims to highlight the importance of our provinces\u2019 cultural heritage and is a \u201ctaster\u201d for the Italy-Russia Year of Tourism, which will run from September 2013 until September 2014. One aim of the \u201cYear\u201d is to promote less well-known tourism destinations and art cities while developing synergies between cultural tourism and the \u201cMade in Italy\u201d brand. The Ambassador illustrated a project to create tourism-cultural \u201cpathways\u201d linked to Titian. <\/P> The opening of the Titian exhibition was attended by important representatives of Russia\u2019s economic, cultural and political communities, including President Putin\u2019s Adviser for International Cultural Affairs, Mikhail Shvytkoy.
