{"id":165999,"date":"2025-12-19T11:19:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2025\/12\/cuba-settimana-della-cultura-italiana\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T14:02:43","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T13:02:43","slug":"cuba-settimana-della-cultura-italiana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2025\/12\/cuba-settimana-della-cultura-italiana\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba, Italian Culture Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Organized annually by the <strong>Embassy of Italy in Havana<\/strong> in collaboration with the Cuban <strong>Ministry of Culture<\/strong>, the <strong>Oficina del Historiador<\/strong> de la Ciudad de La Habana and with the support of Italian and Cuban <strong>institutions<\/strong> and <strong>enterprises<\/strong>, the \u201cSemana\u201d is <strong>the oldest<\/strong> foreign cultural week on the island.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>27<sup>th<\/sup> edition<\/strong>, held from 28 November to 6 December 2025, offered a <strong>multidisciplinary programme<\/strong>, with Italian <strong>literature<\/strong> as its central theme.<\/p>\n<p>Among the authors celebrated was Eugenio <strong>Montale<\/strong>, marking the centenary of his <em>Ossi di Seppia<\/em> and the fiftieth anniversary of his <strong>Nobel<\/strong> Prize. Montale inspired the performance <em>Sentieri<\/em>, staged by <strong>Azulteatro<\/strong> under the direction of playwright Serena <strong>Gatti<\/strong>. In tribute to Italo <strong>Calvino<\/strong>, the eponymous <strong>prize<\/strong> was awarded as part of the competition active since 1996, in collaboration with the <strong>Uni\u00f3n de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba<\/strong> and the Italian association <strong>ARCI-ARCS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Italian culture was further showcased in <strong>visual arts,<\/strong> with exhibitions dedicated to <strong>comics<\/strong>, <strong>graphic arts<\/strong> and emerging <strong>photography<\/strong>, <strong>music<\/strong>, with a tribute to the career of Lucia <strong>Altieri<\/strong> and <strong>fashion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Organized annually by the Embassy of Italy in Havana in collaboration with the Cuban Ministry of Culture, the Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana and with the support of Italian and Cuban institutions and enterprises, the \u201cSemana\u201d is the oldest foreign cultural week on the island.
