To that end, the deputy minister continued, \u201cEXPO 2015, with its focus on nutrition, water resources and sustainable energy, will be a golden opportunity for Italy to work with the rest of the world in advancing the values of sustainable development\u201d.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Amin and Dass\u00f9 working together for clean energy in Africa<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Director Amin expressed his gratitude to Italy for its driving role since the Agency\u2019s creation, and the hope that the excellent collaboration under way would expand, thanks not least to our country\u2019s recent election to the IRENA Council. Finally, Dass\u00f9 and Amin agreed to work together as EXPO 2015 nears, involving Italian firms in fostering the spread of clean energy and technologies throughout Africa, discussing the organization of an initial thematic workshop in 2014.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Director Generalo f IRENA was also given a tour of the Farnesina Palace by Massimo Civitelli, chief of the Directorate General for Administration, IT and Communications, during which Amin was able to admire the MFA\u2019s solar power plant, one of the top examples of its kinds and capable with its 184 panels, of making an environmental impact equal to 2000 trees annually. That Amin\u2019s keen interest in the plant was piqued was amply clear from the many questions he had.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>After Farnesina Amin goes on the the GSE <\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>After his meeting with Deputy Minister Dass\u00f9, Director Amin went on to the headquarters of the Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE) to take part in the event \u201cIRENA meets the Italian Renewable Energy System\u201d, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of the Environment, where GSE executives and the principal Italian sector associations and research bodies illustrated Italian expertise in renewable energy sources, in addition to the incentive and promotional mechanisms currently in effect in Italy.
