An opportunity for direct dialogue with citizens, to render its institutional activities transparent, to illustrate the building and its collections\u2019 illustrious history and to transform a public space into a benefit shared by all.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Astratto<\/I><\/STRONG><STRONG><\/STRONG><STRONG>by Gastone Novelli on loan from the National Gallery of Modern Art<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>A 1964 tapestry by Gastone Novelli (Vienna 1925-Milan 1968) entitled Astratto<\/I>, on loan from Rome\u2019s National Gallery of Modern Art, will be on display in the \u201cSalone d\u2019Onore\u201d, in perfect harmony with another of the artist\u2019s tapestry masterpieces L\u2019albero meraviglioso con i suoi frutti e fiori, <\/I>which is owned by the foreign ministry and hangs in the <\/I>\u201cAnticamera degli Ambasciatori\u201d.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Astratto<\/I> was originally produced by the Arazzeria Scassa of Asti for the interior of the SS Michelangelo<\/I> ocean liner. This loan falls within the broader scope of the foreign ministry\u2019s promotion of the artists of the Farnesina Collection, in an effort to develop more fruitful exchanges with other cultural institutions equally committed to the advancement of Italian modern art.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><STRONG>40\/40\/40: Exhibition of young Irish artists<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>40\/40\/40<\/I>is the title of an exhibition organised by the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Irish Office of Public Works to celebrate the 40th anniversary of that country\u2019s membership in the European Union.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The exhibition contains 40 pieces by as many artists under 40 years of age \u2013 either Irish or who have chosen to live in Ireland \u2013 from the Irish State Art Collection.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Its Rome stint at the Farnesina Palace coincides with the closing of the Irish EU Presidency and is the last in a tour that took it to Madrid\u2019s Centro Cultural Conde Duque and Warsaw\u2019s Biblioteka Uniwersytecka.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>How to participate<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Visits to the Farnesina <A title=\"farnesina opem doors\" href=\"http:\/\/web.esteri.it\/registrazionevisite\/LogIn.aspx\">can be booked on the foreign ministry website<\/A> up until midnight on 12 June 2013.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Entry <\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Visiting hours: the following time segments are available for booking 9.00-11.00 11.00-13.00 13.00-16.00. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>Those with bookings will be given priority, after which any additional places will be assigned.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>No wardrobe service will be provided.All visitors will be issued a badge, to be turned in upon leaving.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>How to get here<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Ministry of Foreign AffairsPiazzale della Farnesina, 100135 Roma<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Metro: Take the \u201cA\u201d Line (red), to the \u201cOttaviano\u201d stop and change to bus 32, marked \u201cTor di Quinto\u201d (get off at the Ministero degli Affari Esteri stop), or bus 271, marked \u201cSan Giuliano\u201d (get off at the Ministero degli Affari Esteri stop).<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Bus: Bus lines 32 or 271<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Farnesina Palace will open its doors to the public on 14 June 2013. \u201cOpen Doors at the Farnesina\u201d is the title of the annual event by which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meets the public, and is part of a mission to promote its art collections both in Italy and abroad.
