Describing bilateral relations as excellent from political, scientific and economic standpoints, Peres ended with a toast to the Italian President as \u201cone of the great Italians, one of the most important leaders\u201d. <\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>\u201cLevi Montalcini represents the future of humanity\u201d<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Speaking of Rita Levi Montalcini \u2013 to which the Italian embassy has dedicated a scientific conference that it is expected Turin Mayor Piero Fassino, also present in Tel Aviv, will attend \u2013 Peres added: \u201cIn my view she represents not only Italy\u2019s past but also the future of humanity\u201d, exclaiming enthusiastically, \u201cWhat a woman! What a person! What a symbol!\u201d. It was Montalcini herself who had influenced his way of looking at the future, admitted Peres, who in the coming days will host an international conference in Jerusalem on the topic.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Peres presence a sign of friendship with Italy<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Speaking to an audience of over 1,000 persons, Ambassador Tal\u00f2 called Peres\u2019 presence at the Festival of the Italian Republic \u201ca sign of his friendship with Italy\u201d. \u201cThere is always more Italy in Israel\u201d, he said, underscoring bilateral economic, scientific and political relations.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cOur relations prove that everything is possible\u201d. \u201cThe sky is not the limit&#8221;, he continued, citing the slogan the Embassy had chosen for the 2 June event.<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"President of Israel Shimon Peres paid tribute to two great Italians \u2013 Giorgio Napolitano and Rita Levi-Montalcini \u2013 in a speech at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Tel Aviv on the evening of the Festival of the Italian Republic.
