Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani today met at the Farnesina with Argentina\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Pablo Quirno. The talks focused on the close alignment of views between the two Governments and their shared determination to further strengthen the bilateral partnership.<\/p>\n
Minister Tajani recalled that relations between the two countries are rooted in a unique historical and cultural bond, underpinned by the presence of the largest Italian community abroad \u2014 over one million Italian nationals and around 20 million people of Italian descent \u2014 which represents a natural bridge for deepening political and economic cooperation. The Ministers reaffirmed the central role of the Italy\u2013Argentina Action Plan 2025\u20132030, adopted in Rome on 6 June 2025 by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Javier Milei, reaffirming the strategic nature of the relationship and broadening cooperation across numerous priority sectors.<\/p>\n
The two Ministers exchanged views on key international issues, with particular attention to the political transition in Venezuela, the situation in Cuba and critical raw materials.<\/p>\n
Tajani underscored Italy\u2019s support for the economic reform programme launched by the Argentine Government and, in this context, highlighted the objective of further increasing bilateral trade \u2014 which reached EUR 2 billion in the first ten months of 2025, up 15.5% year-on-year \u2014 as well as encouraging new investments by the approximately 300 Italian companies already operating in the country, also in light of the improved business climate and the resolution of outstanding trade issues. The recent signing of the EU\u2013Mercosur Agreement will provide an additional boost to trade flows with the region and with Argentina.<\/p>\n
