Today, Wednesday 29 April, Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will speak at 11:00 a.m. in Turin at the event \u201cExport Objective: Businesses and Territories of Northern Italy,\u201d the first stage of a series of meetings dedicated to supporting the internationalisation of Italian companies.<\/p>\n
The Turin event is dedicated to Northern Italy, in particular the regions of: Piedmont, Valle d\u2019Aosta, Liguria, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Emilia-Romagna. In 2025, Northern regions exported goods worth EUR 436.4 billion, accounting for 68% of Italy\u2019s total exports (+2.2% compared to the previous year).<\/p>\n
Promoted by the Italian Foreign Ministry with the support of the Piedmont Region, the event will open with institutional remarks by the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, followed by the opening address by Minister Tajani. This will be followed by a focus on export support tools made available by the \u201cSistema Italia\u201d and a discussion on the role of territories in the development of international markets, together with the main business associations. In the afternoon, discussions will address challenges linked to innovation, with a particular focus on cybersecurity and space sectors.<\/p>\n
The day will conclude with direct meetings between companies, officials from Italian Embassies and experts from the \u201cSistema Italia\u201d (ITA, SACE, SIMEST and CDP), as well as the \u201cGrowth Laboratory,\u201d an initiative carried out in partnership with 24ORE Cultura, aimed at fostering dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and stakeholders from the cultural world, creative industries and Made in Italy sectors. Over 700 participants are expected.<\/p>\n
During his stay in Turin, the Minister will also take part in the inauguration of the new SIMEST office.<\/p>\n
The initiative will continue with further stages in Bari in June and in Rome in October, with the aim of strengthening the link between the Italian Foreign Ministry, Sistema Italia agencies and local territories, promoting direct engagement with businesses and trade associations. The initiative will culminate in the National Export Conference 2026, scheduled to take place in Milan in December.<\/p>\n
