The tenth edition of Italian Design Day, dedicated to the theme \u201cRe-Design: Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas and Relationships\u201d, was held in Kyiv at the iconic Taryan Towers, the capital\u2019s tallest building, which was opened to the public for the first time for this event.<\/p>\n
The presence of the Minister for Economy, Environment and Agriculture, Oleksii Sobolev, alongside many representatives from Ukraine\u2019s leading institutions, underscored the sector\u2019s central role in strengthening bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
The initiative brought together more than 150 representatives from institutions, professional firms and companies from Italy and Ukraine, with a focus on architecture, design and reconstruction. In his speech, Ambassador Carlo Formosa highlighted the role of design as a distinctive expression of Italian quality and a practical tool for meeting the growing demand of the Ukrainian market.<\/p>\n
Key figures included many Ukrainian designers and entrepreneurs. Luca Trippetti, \u201cDesign Ambassador\u201d and representative of FederlegnoArredo<\/em>, spoke on behalf of Italy. He wished to personally demonstrate in Kyiv his concrete vision of industrial and design collaboration in support of the reconstruction and development of the wood-furniture sector in Ukraine. Carlo Colombo, one of Italy\u2019s best-known designers on the international scene and particularly appreciated in Ukraine for his previous collaborations with the country\u2019s most prestigious Italian brands, joined the event online from Milan.<\/p>\n The event also featured the exhibition \u201cCitt\u00e0 in scena<\/em>\u201d, dedicated to Italian urban regeneration and sustainability projects, which attracted extraordinary interest from the Ukrainian public, due to the clear potential that such past experience could offer in a country that is set to redevelop countless spaces currently in a state of disrepair, with a view to optimally restoring them for public use.
