The 9th Italian Research Day in the World was celebrated in Bahia Blanca (Argentina) with the international workshop \u2018Resilient Viticulture, from Italy to Patagonia: Climate, Remote Sensing and New Paradigms\u2019, organised by the Consulate General in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n
The event took place in Trevelin, in the province of Chubut, in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, at the \u201cVi\u00f1as del Nant y Fall<\/em>\u201d winery, known as one of the southernmost wineries in the world, founded and run by a first-generation Friulian family.<\/p>\n As highlighted by Consul General Nicola Bazzani, in the presence – among others – of the Provincial Vice-Governor, the workshop was organised to demonstrate how Italian research can concretely contribute to building a more resilient and innovative viticulture in a territory as extraordinary and complex as Patagonia.<\/p>\n Key scientific entities at the event included the University of Padua. Professor Paolo Tarolli, Professor of Agricultural Hydraulics, spoke on the topic of remote sensing for sustainable and resilient viticulture, with particular attention to the role of satellites and drones in adapting to climate change.
