The Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Lyon, in collaboration with the Federation of Sicilian Wine, Oil and Flavour Routes, organised two events dedicated to Sicily\u2019s food and wine heritage.<\/p>\n
As highlighted by the Italian Consul General in Lyon, Chiara Petracca, this was \u201ca unique opportunity to discover Sicily, its culture and its products of excellence, and to promote experiential tourism, which finds one of its finest expressions in this region\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Federation of Sicilian Wine, Oil and Flavour Routes was established with the aim of promoting Sicily\u2019s culinary and wine excellence; it brings together wineries, farms, accommodation facilities and restaurants that offer travellers unforgettable experiences amidst Sicily\u2019s landscapes. The Federation\u2019s Director, Marika Mannino, also took part in the two events.<\/p>\n
The first event, held on Wednesday 15 April, featured a masterclass dedicated to the wines of six regions within the Federation. The following day, the session \u201cTaste on a Journey through the Sicilian Wine, Oil and Flavour Routes\u201d was held, during which Marika Mannino guided the audience \u2013 mainly consisting of industry professionals based in and around Lyon – on a discovery of Sicily, combining culinary combining culinary delights, stunning scenery and architectural attractions.<\/p>\n
