{"id":186829,"date":"2026-05-07T16:23:48","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T14:23:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2026\/05\/la-farnesina-al-salone-del-libro-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T09:10:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T07:10:23","slug":"la-farnesina-al-salone-del-libro-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/approfondimenti\/2026\/05\/la-farnesina-al-salone-del-libro-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"The Italian Foreign Ministry at the Turin International Book Fair 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 14 to 18 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) will once again take part in the Turin International Book Fair with its own stand (Oval Pavilion, stand U126) and a rich programme of events.<\/p>\n<p>The schedule of events at the MAECI stand will offer the public an opportunity to explore the wide range of activities and initiatives promoted by the Italian Foreign Ministry: from culture to innovation, from science diplomacy to sports diplomacy, from support for Italian citizens and businesses abroad to cyber security.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will open on Thursday 14 May at 13:00 p.m. with an event dedicated to Italian publishing abroad as a tool for growth diplomacy, presenting the launch of Italy\u2019s participation as Guest of Honour at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2026. At 3:00 p.m., Lul\u00f9 Gargari, chef ambassador of Giallo Zafferano, and the Director of La Cucina Italiana, Maddalena Fossati Dondero, will be among the speakers at an event focusing on the recent UNESCO recognition awarded to Italian cuisine.<\/p>\n<p>Sports diplomacy will take centre stage in a discussion on the recent Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and the role of women\u2019s sport, featuring, among others, Olympic champion Arianna Fontana and Paralympic champion Francesca Porcellato.<\/p>\n<p>Ample space will also be devoted to promoting the instruments put in place by MAECI to support Italian businesses, with events focusing on Italian design and fashion as tools to showcase the country\u2019s excellence abroad, as well as on assistance services for Italian citizens overseas, with the Head of the Crisis Unit, Nicola Minasi, the Director of the geopolitics magazine <em>Domino<\/em>, Dario Fabbri, and Mariangela Pira, journalist at Sky TG24.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention will also be paid to young people, through an event aimed at exploring the new diplomatic recruitment competition and the professional opportunities offered by the Ministry, as well as to the network of Italian schools abroad, with the participation of students from several Italian institutions worldwide.
