It is an Italian foreign policy priority\u201d. These were the words of Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi at the conference on \u201cNourish the Earth. Cultivate the Future\u201d organised by the Farnesina, the Italian Permanent Mission to the UN in Rome and \u201cRoma InConTra\u201d, for World Food Day.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cThe G8 Summit in L\u2019Aquila\u201d, noted Terzi, \u201csaw the launch, after years without effective action, of the \u2018L\u2019Aquila initiative on food security\u2019. This Italian commitment led just a few months later to the \u2018Rome Declaration\u2019, which contains the principles the international community must follow to combat these major global problems.
