Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani opened the Italy-Norway Business Forum today at the Foreign Ministry, together with the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, Cecilie Myrseth.<\/p>\n
During the Forum, Minister Tajani presented a guide to investment and business opportunities in Norway for Italian companies, as a tool to support internationalization. At the end of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Italian company Drass and the Norwegian industrial group Kongsberg, thus confirming the growing interest of companies from both countries in developing industrial and technological partnerships in high-value-added sectors.<\/p>\n
Minister Tajani also held a bilateral meeting with Minister Myrseth, during which the desire to strengthen cooperation between Italy and Norway in the strategic sectors of energy, space, and defence was reaffirmed, also within the framework of collaboration between NATO allies. “We need a strong defence industry; joint ventures with other NATO countries are needed to build a common strategy,” the Minister stated. During the meeting the importance of promoting joint investment and developing new collaboration opportunities in African markets was also emphasized.<\/p>\n
Approximately 200 institutional and business representatives and over 90 Italian and Norwegian companies participate in the Business Forum. The works will focus on collaboration opportunities in the energy transition, green maritime issues, defence, and infrastructure security, with a particular focus on renewable energy, nuclear energy, space, and new technologies.
