The conference, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) at the United Nations Headquarters, reaffirms Italy\u2019s leading role in matters relating to the rule of law, human rights, justice and the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Minister then met Alexander De Croo, UNDP Administrator. In reaffirming Italy\u2019s support for the Organisation, Cirielli underlined the commitment to strengthening Rome\u2019s role as a hub of the multilateral development system, in line with the priorities of Italian Development Cooperation and the Mattei Plan. The Deputy Minister also highlighted the prospects for further deepening the partnership with Italy, starting from the proposal to work more closely with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and to enhance the existing UNDP Centre in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>The mission concluded with a meeting with Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, dedicated to cooperation between Italy and the Organisation in the field of child protection.
