T<A name=_GoBack><\/A>his was the declaration made in Kabul today, 14 June 2012, by the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Staffan de Mistura<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Speaking at the \u201cHeart of Asia\u201d conference in the Afghan capital, part of the \u201cIstanbul Process\u201d, De Mistura specified three possible forms of Italian intervention. The first would involve assistance in combating drug trafficking \u2013 \u201cif we are asked\u201d, he clarified \u2013, which is one of Afghanistan\u2019s most serious problems. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Italian Government, added De Mistura, is willing to \u201ccontinue the work it has already undertaken in the infrastructure field, with the focus on airports and roads\u201d.
